Kathleen's career began in the world of fashion, as a designer for Ralph
Lauren. While designing the Ralph Lauren Polo Bear, her dream of writing
and illustrating teddy bear themed children's books was born. After ten
years in the corporate world, Kathleen boldly left her executive position
to pursue her personal dream.
Kathleen is currently a full-time author and illustrator, having four
books in print. Her charming books have been featured in The New York
Times, Newsday, and on CBS News Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood. She
has presented her popular programs in hundreds of schools, libraries, and
museums across the country, including the Smithsonian Museum of American
History. Her programs have also been nationally televised on C-Span Book
TV.
Kathleen's signature illustration technique was developed during her years
as a professional artist. The tones and textures of her illustrations are
achieved through the application of marker and multiple delicate layers of
colored pencil.
